This cutie pie is one of my favorite little friends, Xavier. Seriously, that suit though- the boy is killin' it!! You can usually find him fighting the local neighborhood villain or interviewing for his next big job. You can also find him above pictured with his little brother Knox, and his Mama- my dear friend Kasha. I had a conversation with Kasha today while we were both working from home. Her environment is a bit more challenging with these two amazing but extremely busy little humans buzzing around her dining room table. My two dependent humans are busy but not necessarily buzzing around my work space. I reminded her to soak up every stinkin' moment- time flies. I told her I am secretly thrilled with this extra time I am being gifted with my two teenagers. Seriously, it's been a long time since I have been this cool. I am finding that they gravitate towards me in a way I haven't experienced in quite some time. Every night is movie or family game night. Every night we have dinner. Every night is filled with thank yous and what do you thinks. I am in absolute heaven. Of course, I am struggling with the things that everyone is and am worried about their well being. Hunter's senior year literally disappeared over-night and our "Paytie Magoo" is concerned about how this will affect her future. Junior year is so important-in so many ways. So we are talking a lot. I am listening and not always trying to fix it. Truth be told I can't fix it....I can only help them to continue to write their own stories. As Kasha and I were talking I thanked her. Our conversation reminded me of how there is always a flip side. It's always so easy to fall into the negative- It's so important to take a breath, find the positive....and then soak it up. On another note- I added pictures of my breakfast because it was amazing. I don't get to eat cereal because of my food allergies. I made "cereal" with coconut flakes, raisins, walnuts and cinnamon. Nothing measured, you just mix it in an oven safe bowl and toast it at 325 deg. You have to watch it and stir it but it crisps up and is delicious. I added a little of Cedar Creek Bee Farm's Honey and almond milk and voila....breakfast. I also used the coffee whip that Kasha suggested and foamed the creamer in my coffee. It's getting fancy over here. If I didn't have these allergies I probably would have never made this. Little gifts everywhere. Also- the room we are in barely got used before this time in our lives. Payton has asked me for years to turn it into a "hang-out" space. I didn't necessarily think it was necessary or it would truly get used. It's now one of my favorite rooms in our home. I stopped by Ikea on a whim a few months back and bought the day bed...best decision ever. Change your perspective if you are feeling down- seriously, the other side is so much brighter!
